Laser hair removal is an effective way to get rid of unwanted hair, but this procedure has several important requirements. One of them is to avoid staying in the sun for two weeks before and after hair removal (also exclude solariums).

For this reason, it is recommended to start laser epilation in the fall, so that by the summer you can complete a course of 6-8 procedures, which are necessary to completely get rid of hair. However, if you do not want to wait for the onset of cold weather, hair removal can be done at any time of the year, but provided that:

  • skin areas after epilation will not be in the sun for at least 2 weeks;
  • during this period you will wear trousers if you have epilated legs;
  • you will use a cream with a high SPF (at least SPF 30) if you epilated your face

Why can’t epilation be performed on tanned skin? Firstly, it can lead to burns due to the increased dose of ultraviolet radiation. Of course, in the hands of an experienced beautician, this risk is reduced to zero, but you don’t know exactly how your skin will react, so it’s better not to risk it. Secondly, it reduces the effect of epilation. In order for the laser to see and remove the follicle, the skin must be light and the hair must be dark. Therefore, the laser is not as effective on fine and light hairs. Dark and thick hair on fair skin is guaranteed to be removed.
